Michael Green has joined Transistor as a Support Engineer!

He will be answering your questions in live chat, improving our help documentation, and working on some engineering related customer success projects.

Customer service is hugely important to me, and I think it's one of Transistor's most important features.

When we launched in 2018, I answered most of our customer support tickets. Then, in 2019, we hired Helen to help cover time zones outside of North America.

This was a huge relief, but I was still answering tickets constantly, from when I woke up until I went to bed every day (including weekends and holidays).

I met Michael at a local tech meetup here in Vernon. He was looking to transition his career into the tech industry. Last summer, I asked him if he'd be willing to cover our customer support during the summer-fall months to give me a reprieve while traveling.

Because he was local, he could come to my office and have me train him there. Within a few weeks, he confidently responded to customer inquiries on our live chat.

It quickly became apparent that Michael needed to be a permanent fixture on our team. Having him answer tickets during the day meant that I could focus on strategy and growth. Plus, it turns out, he's just better at serving customers than me! We regularly get messages like this about his service:

Today, we are excited to announce that Michael is a full-time team member. 🎉

It's been exactly one year since he started working with us on a part-time contract, so this is a fitting day to celebrate his transition to full-time.

Welcome aboard, Michael! We're thankful to have you helping our customers!
