Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery

Introduction

The uptime of our systems and integrity of your data is of the utmost importance to us at Transistor. Utilizing modern cloud infrastructure (primarily Amazon Web Services and Cloudflare) we can provide resilient access to Transistor services, multiple layers of redundancy, and a comprehensive disaster recovery strategy.

Redundancy

Transistor services run on redundant servers across multiple Amazon availability zones, insulating these services from isolated outages. Transistor's database infrastructure is powered by Amazon RDS, a distributed and fault tolerant database system providing automatic failover across multiple Availability Zones and comprehensive data backup strategies. Your audio files are stored in redundant locations and delivered via Cloudflare, a highly available globally distributed Content Delivery Network.

Database Backups

In the extreme event of data loss, our Amazon RDS databases are configured to allow for Point-In-Time data recovery. In addition to Point-In-Time restore capabilities, we perform regular full database backups and periodically test restore integrity and timing. If for some reason a full restore was required, our services would be inaccessible for a very small amount of time while a data restore procedure was performed.
