Publish your private podcast on Spotify

Your private podcast subscribers can now listen on Spotify. Transistor now supports Spotify Open Access, allowing your members to access your premium content directly in the Spotify app.

Private podcasts are perfect for offering premium content to paying members, exclusive episodes for supporters, or internal shows for your team. Until now, listeners needed to use a dedicated podcast app or our web player. But with over 600 million Spotify users worldwide, many of your subscribers were asking for Spotify support.

Now they can listen where they already spend their time.

How it works

Setting up Spotify access for your private podcast takes just a few clicks:

  1. Submit your show – In your private podcast's Distribution settings, click "Submit to Spotify Open Access."

  2. Choose visibility – Decide whether your show appears in Spotify's search results (great for attracting new members) or stays completely hidden (perfect for team-only content).

  3. Send access links – When subscribers sign up, they'll receive an invite link that connects their Spotify account to your private feed.

Once connected, subscribers automatically receive new episodes in Spotify as you publish them. And if someone's subscription ends? Their access is automatically revoked.

Perfect for memberships

This feature pairs well with membership platforms such as Ghost and Memberful. Your paying members can now enjoy your premium content on Spotify alongside everything else they listen to.

Perfect for teams

Many organizations use private podcasts for internal communications—company updates, training materials, or team announcements. With Spotify support, your team members can stay informed using an app they already have installed. When someone leaves the organization, remove them from your subscriber list, and their access is instantly revoked.

Getting started

Private podcasts are available on all Transistor plans. Head to your private podcast's Distribution settings to submit your show to Spotify, or create a new private podcast by clicking "Add a podcast" in your dashboard.
